Abstract
Aortoesophageal fistula (AEFs) is a rare and fatal complication of thoracic aortic aneurysms. The clinical presentation is often nonspecific, and endoscopy can be unreliable for making the diagnosis. Therefore, computed tomography (CT) is the most wildly available and preferred imaging modality for evaluating patients with suspected AEF. A timely diagnosis is essential for improved patient outcome. Hence, familiarity with imaging findings and maintaining a high suspicion in the setting of risk factors will allow for accurate diagnosis. We present two cases of thoracic aortic aneurysm complicated by AEF and highlight the CT findings.
